TRANSLATORS

Shuhratkhon Imyaminova
- was born in Oltinkul district, Andijon region. She graduated from Institute of Foreign Languages . She traveled a lot between Berlin , Munich and Dresden . She has been dealing with literary translation since 1978. She is the author of many scientific articles on theory of translation. She translated a lot of poems, stories and fables from German into Uzbek. Shuhratkhon Imyaminova is one of the founders of Literary Translation Club. She published several books titled "Classics of German Literature", "Theory and practice of translation" and "XX-th century German literature". Her translations include works by Heyne, Goethe, Werner, Marget, Bolger and many other German classical and contemporary poets and writers. At present she works at the National University of Uzbekistan.


Hafiza Kuchkarova
- was born in 1973 Kashkadarya region. She graduated from National University of Uzbekistan. At present she works at this University as a teacher of German. Hafiza Kuchkarova is a co-author of two books - "Briliant voices of Uzbek Literature" and "Translation of didactic works for faculties of Law". She translated a lot of literary works from German literature. Her own book of non-fiction was published in 2005. An active member of translation club, Hafiza Kuchkarova has recently returned from a creative program in India .
 

Zulkhumor Mirzaeva
- poetess, scholar, she translated a lot from English and into English. She has published one poetry collection. Her translations include "The language of the bird" by Alisher Navoi and "Northerners and Southerners" by Lee Ho-chul, a Korean writer.

Abdulatif Abdullaev

- poet and translator. Abdulatif Abdullaev was born in 1984 in Kashkadarya region. He graduated from National University of Uzbekistan. His poems and stories were published in many literary newspapers and magazines. He has recently published three poetry and translation books. His translations include "Jokes", "Fables of Kalughlon", and "Lessons and wise sayings". His translations from contemporary Turkish poetry received an ovation in the literary field.


Azam Abidov
- poet, translator, was born in 1974 in Namangan , city of flowers, trained in philology. Azam published many poetry and translation books. His translation from eminent voices of Uzbek poetry Usmon Nosir and Chulpon was applauded among literary scholars and readers. The most successful works by Azam Abidov are "Tunes of Asia" (English translation of contemporary Uzbek poetry), "Dream of lightsome dawns" and "White shadow. Davsaman. A miracle is on the way". He co-edited Uzbek version of the book "Muslim Life in America ". He writes in both Uzbek and English. Azam lives with his wife, journalist Nodira Abdullaeva and with his three sons in Tashkent, Uzbekistan . He receives email at azam_Abidov@mail.ru
